Aspen Ladd started her combat sports training at the age of fourteen. She studied kickboxing, boxing and wrestling prior to making her debut appearance as an amateur at WCFC with Jaimee Nievera. Ladd gained momentum from this victory and went on a 3-fight victory streak in Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents in the opening round in each fight. Aspen Ladd debuted in the UFC in the 118th UFC Fight Night 118, with a bout against Lina Langsberg. She was a step ahead of Lina through her ground and pound techniques, resulting in an TKO second-round victory. Then, in her third fight she beat Tonya Evinger even more impressively. Ladd won the fight at the start of round one, and was awarded the Performance of the Night Bonus. Her first fight of note came during her subsequent fight in UFC Fight Night dos Anjos in which she faced. Lee against Sijara Eubanks in an Invicta FC rematch. The two fighters put on a back-and-forth encounter that ended with Ladd winning via unanimous decision and each fighter received the Fight of the Night bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie ended Ladd within 16 seconds, breaking her streak of winning. Yana Knitskaya was defeated by Ladd in the third round of UFC 7.7 on ESPN. In a match that was a replacement in the UFC, Norma Dumont was her opponent. She lost by unanimous decision.
